There's another possibility: music can be something you get your drive from. What I mean it's not only something pleasant to listen to, for old rockers it's a kind of religion, many songs are their Bible. Just remember the time (if you can) when Viktor Tsoy's "We are waiting for change" made whole stadiums stand up, when Yuri Shevchuk's "Revolution, you taught us" was a kind of a clandestine hymn, when in August of 1991 people went out into the streets with this music.
Or you can just derive energy from it, especially if you are tired and empty. It can inspire as well.

I remember the stories of Tsoy about the "Waiting for changes" composition. When he called whole auditory of more than thousand of people in couple of hours to shoot one scene in the movie he was playing and then he and his band KINO performed whole concert for those people, just because there was a promise - they are the gratest rockers in Soviets. I like KINO.
